Elvis was loved by his fans instantly. His first live concert was on July 30, 1954 at Overton Park Bandshell. Elvis recalls that when he came out he was so nervous, he started singing and everyone was cheering for him. He want off stage and they told him they were cheering because he was wiggling. Then he went back out for an encore and the more he wiggled they more they cheered. That is how his famous dance all started, on accident from being nervous. Elvis said “Some people tap their feet, some people snap their fingers, and some people sway back and forth.
